At the Opera

I teach classical music history and am especially interested in opera.  I love it when my students are getting ready to go to their first opera.  It seems that my students in opera class are far more concerned with the experience when they go to an opera than the students who just have to go a symphony concert.  There is this air of a truly different culture and meaningful event… these photographs by Bill Hensen really capture the atmosphere of expectation before the opera starts.
